The Ambassador of Switzerland to Tehran pays a visit to Central Securities Depository of Iran headquarters to bid farewell to CSDI CEO and Chairman of the Board.

At the end of his mission in Iran, the Ambassador of Switzerland, Mr. Giulio Haas visited on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, Central Securities Depository of Iran (CSDI) headquarters in Tehran where he met with President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. MohammadReza Mohseni and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Hossein Fahimi.

During the meeting, the Ambassador said that the objective of his visit was to say goodbye. Mr. Haas praised the warm and productive relations his country and Iran share to the moment and expressed hope Tehran and Bern will work to maintain and improve the level of ties. He added that because of its numerous links, Iran is and will be a “unique and suitable” partner for Switzerland and Europe in general.

The outgoing Swiss ambassador, meanwhile, appreciated the efforts on the part of Iran in anti-money laundering activities and the fight against terrorism. He also praised what he termed as “professional and strong” participation of “highly-skilled” Iranian members during the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) meeting in Spain which improved Iran’s position in ranking.

The FATF is an intergovernmental organization founded in 1989 on the initiative of the G7 to develop policies to combat money laundering and financing of terrorism. More than 190 countries around the world subscribe to these standards.

CSDI President and CEO together with the Chairman of the Board, for their parts, expressed gratitude for Ambassador Haas’s fruitful presence and cooperation during his tenure in office. They also congratulated the outgoing Swiss Ambassador on his appointment as Swiss ambassador to Spain and wished him success along the path.
