CSDI CHAIRMAN MODERATES PANEL ON INFRASTRUCTURAL REQUIREMENTS

CSDI Chairman, Mr. HosseinFahimi, moderates a panel on Infrastructural Requirements and Developments for Better Investment in Iran capital market on Iran southern Kish Island early in November.

In parallel with the international exhibition dubbed "Kish Invex 2017" on the southern Persian Gulf Island of Kish, senior Iranian Capital Market experts, held several panel discussions spliced with debates, case studies and Q&A sessions.

 

Chairman of Board of Directors at Central Securities Depository of Iran, Mr. HosseinFahimi, was no exception, moderating a panel titled "Infrastructural Requirements and Developments for Better Investment." The panel was among the centerpieces of the Iran Capital Market: Higher Diversity, Higher Return conference organized by Securities and Exchange Organization (SEO) aimed to provide a venue for financial practitioners to exchange ideas and share experiences on Iran’s untapped market with its great potentials.

 

The session featured CSDI Development and International Relations Director, Mohammad Sajjad Siahkarzadeh, Partner Watson Farley & Williams LLP, Ahmad Khonsari, OLMA- Co-Managing Partner, Jeremy Barnes and E & Y Senior Manager, Wissam Mohsen.

 

The CSDI Chairman made the latest achievements in regards with development of market infrastructure to attract foreign investment explicit in his introduction to the panel.

 

He enumerated instruments to cover currency fluctuations risks, implementation of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), internationalization of banks or establishing the money market and alleviating foreign investors’ concerns about the risks associated with doing business in the Iranian Capital Market as among the efforts to that end.

 

Later in his remarks, Mr. Fahimi drew a comparison between the standards of Iran's Capital Market structure and those in Europe and the global markets, insisting on the infrastructure to foster disclosure of Financial Market data in a bid to maximize market efficiency.

 

Iran’s Capital Market Summit was held early November on the sidelines of Kish Invex 2017 in the southern Iranian Persian Gulf Island of Kish.

 

The summit was well attended by hundreds of local capital market expertise, banking and insurance sectors, as well as tens of foreign delegates with a special focus on great diversity and high return of Iran’s Capital Market.
